Commonly Asked Questions
Why should I have a trial?
A trial is just as important as the day of the actual service. A trial takes place for two reasons. The first reason is so the designer/make-up artist can get to know your hair/skin. The second reason is so you can try different styles and find out what look you really want. You’ll then be able to try it out for a day! Wearing your style for a day will give you the opportunity to give any essential feedback to your designer/make-up artist (i.e. there wasn’t enough hairspray or your bobby pins were too tight or not tight enough, the colors were too light, etc). You will also find that after your trial you and your designer/make-up artist have had the opportunity to build a trusting relationship to ensure that your wedding day goes perfectly!
Why should I wear to the trial and on the day of?
You should wear something comfortable. You should wear a button/zip-up shirt of some sort – This is very important. You don’t want to risk changing your clothes and messing up your gorgeous hair/make-up!!
Should I wash my hair?
Not on the day of the service. Your designer will recommend an at home regimen for the day/night prior to the event.
What do I need to bring?
Anything that you think could possibly be essential to help your designer/make-up artist (i.e. tiara, veil, headband, pictures, hair jewelry).
When should my last haircut be?
Anytime, As long as it’s not in between the trial and the actual service.
Should I bring pictures?
Yes. Pictures are always a great place to start. We want you to have as many ideas as you can!
Can I bring a photographer into the salon?
Yes. You are more than welcome to bring in a photographer. This is your special day! However, we ask that you and your photographer respect the time of your designer/make-up artist by not interrupting the service.
Does the salon have different levels of designers?
Yes. Belle Rayé offers 3 levels of designers. They are the following: Stylist, Senior Stylist, and Artistic Director.
What do the different levels mean?
The different levels mean a few different things, our higher levels have had more experience… As well as pricing.
When should I make my reservation?
Make your appointment as soon as you are able, and know how many people will be joining you for services. We will need at least 3 hours prior to the time you need to be at your event.
What should I do first, hair or make-up?
We suggest that you do your hair first.
Belle Rayé Beauty Tips
-Relax and indulge! This is your time!
-Please, Do Not do anything to your hair without consulting your designer.
-Get a facial! Not only is it a great way to relax but facials increase your blood flow to your face, which will give you a natural glow!
-We offer teeth whitening at our salon. It is an inexpensive and painless procedure that can whiten your teeth between 2-6 shades in just one treatment! In order to have your pearly whites as bright as they can be, we suggest having your first whitening be done 3 months prior to your event. The second whitening is suggested to be done a week prior to the event. Both should be followed by the use of our take home whitening product. Ask your Belle Rayé Beauty Advisor for more details!!
-Lash Perming. It’s safe & harmless & lasts 2-4 months. Your lashes will instantly look longer! (cry & not worry)
-We suggest 2 trial updos. Your first trial is to be at least one month prior to the day of your event. A popular idea is to have the trial done on the day of your bachelorette party or the day of your bridal shower. The second trial is to be done at least 2 weeks prior to the day of your event.
-Don’t surprise your stylist with new ideas on the day of your event! Keep us informed! We love to hear your input!!
